LAMP International Lighting Design Competition
L A M P
About This Opportunity
The L A M P (International Lighting Design Competition) is an annual, globally‑open call for entries that celebrates emerging talent in lighting design. The 2026 edition opens on July 1, 2026 and runs through October 31, 2026, offering four submission phases: early‑bird (July 1–August 15), regular (August 16–October 1), late (October 2–15) and extended (October 16–31). Entrants may compete in two main categories – Professional and Student – with sub‑categories for floor, table, pendant and sconce designs, and optional recognitions for portable, sustainable, smart, and other innovations. Eligibility is broad: professionals with an active design career, and students enrolled in a post‑secondary design program during the 2025‑2026 or 2026‑2027 academic year. Both individuals and teams of any size may apply, and entries are accepted from all disciplines, including artists, industrial designers, and architects. Submission fees range from $60 to $225 depending on category and deadline phase, with additional entry fees for extra submissions. The competition provides finalists with public recognition, cash awards, a dedicated feature on the L A M P website for a year, promotion through newsletters and social media, and potential media partner spotlight. Judging criteria focus on aesthetics, functionality, creativity, and social/environmental responsibility. All submissions must be original, include up to six high‑resolution images (and optional video), and adhere to strict branding‑free guidelines. The competition is conducted entirely online via Submittable, with no physical residency or travel support offered.
