Art Grants, Temple, & Effigy
Mosaic Experiment
About This Opportunity
Mosaic Experiment is a four‑day, all‑ages event inspired by Burning Man, held in late September/early October in Rutland, Ohio. The 2026 edition offers Art Grants to support artists in creating works that align with the event’s ideals of community, participation, and environmental stewardship. Grants cover materials such as lumber, hardware, and decor for projects that will be installed at the event, but do not cover artist time, insurance, tools, tickets, food, alcohol, or other supplies. Eligible applicants include individual artists, teams, or established groups; teams must submit through a single representative, and applicants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the contract. The application deadline has been extended to August 25, 2026, and the application process requires a budget, build plan, and supporting materials, with separate burn plans for Temple and Effigy projects. Selected recipients receive funding in three installments (50 %, 25 %, 25 %) and must provide receipts and progress reports. The grant is part of Mosaic Experiment’s broader commitment to fostering experimental, cross‑disciplinary art that engages the community.
