Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts
About This Opportunity

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts awards up to seventy‑eight juried residencies each year to visual artists, writers, composers and interdisciplinary artists from the United States and abroad. Residencies last between two and eight weeks and are self‑directed, allowing participants to focus on their own practice. Each resident receives housing in a private apartment, a private studio space, and a weekly food stipend of $175. Applications are submitted online and are evaluated by a discipline‑specific blind jury based on work samples and statements. An application fee of $35 is required and is non‑refundable. The next application deadline is September 1, 2026. The program emphasizes quiet, solitary work time while also fostering community through shared meals and occasional open‑gallery events. The residency is located in Nebraska City, NE, USA, offering a peaceful small‑town environment supportive of artistic creation.
