About This Opportunity
Artspace Aotearoa, a leading contemporary visual‑art organisation in Auckland, is inviting applications for the position of Kaitohu Director. The role is a five‑year, full‑time fixed‑term appointment based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, reporting to the Tiaki Board of Trustees. The Director will provide artistic, financial and organisational leadership, shaping the annual programme, advancing critical discourse, and ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. Responsibilities include leading a bold annual programme, developing the team, strengthening the organisation’s identity, and representing Artspace in the wider sector. Applicants should have a strong record in visual‑arts programming and management, experience in fundraising, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, diversity, equity and inclusion.
