About This Opportunity

The Hamburg International Artist Residency is a three‑month program hosted at Westwerk, an artists’ centre on Hamburg’s Fleetinsel. Funded by the Hamburg Ministry for Culture and Media, the residency invites international artists to live and work at Westwerk, providing a private apartment, shared bathroom, gallery and performance space, and internet access. Participants receive a monthly stipend of €900 plus a one‑off €500 payment, and are expected to develop an artistic project and engage with the local cultural scene. The call is open to artists across disciplines, with a focus on multidisciplinary practice. Applications are accepted until the deadline of 27 August 2026.

The residency is a residential and work grant that requires the artist to reside at Westwerk during the term, facilitating both creative work and networking opportunities within Hamburg’s vibrant arts community.
