About This Opportunity
Other Lands Other Sounds (OLOS) invites musicians, visual artists, dancers, performers and live‑art practitioners to a 12‑day intensive residency at Court of Cavalum, an 18th‑century manor 30 minutes outside Porto, Portugal. The program, scheduled for July 31 – August 11 2026, offers a carefully curated schedule of movement sessions, ensemble workshops, skill‑shares, field trips, creative briefs, mentoring and more. Participants will co‑create new works—performance, installation, sound, movement—culminating in a promenade performance through the historic space. The residency is paid: a fee of €1 210–€1 990 (depending on accommodation) covers tuition, facilitation, studio space, accommodation, meals and all access to the venue. No application fee is required. The call is open to artists with an established practice; it is not for beginners. Applicants must be musicians, visual artists, dancers, performers or live‑art practitioners and should be ready to experiment across disciplines. The program is open to all nationalities and ages. Housing is provided in private rooms or dormitories; travel support is not included. The application process is rolling, with deadlines on March 20, April 17 and May 22 2026, and continues thereafter. The application form can be accessed via Curiosa’s website, and detailed guidelines are available in a PDF. The residency offers studio/workspace, accommodation, meals, mentorship, ensemble facilitation, and access to a sound studio, a piano sunroom, a barn workshop and an attic visual‑arts studio.
