Illumination 250 | My Signature : My Declaration

Illumination 250, a large‑scale interactive public art celebration in Hackensack, New Jersey, invites visual and musical artists from Northern New Jersey to contribute a personal “signature” to the commissioned artwork My Signature : My Declaration. The project will feature lighted acrylic tablets displaying artists’ visual signatures and short declarations, as well as short melodic signatures incorporated into an ambient soundscape. Submissions are accepted from August 8 2026 (12:00 a.m. ET) to August 26 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET). Visual artists must submit a monochromatic line‑drawing (24"×24" at 300 DPI, vector preferred) or a 10"×10" high‑quality paper piece, accompanied by a declaration of no more than 50 characters. Musical artists must submit a 2‑8 bar melody (≤15 seconds) in MP3 or WAV format, also with a brief declaration. Selected works will be etched onto acrylic tablets and installed throughout Hackensack Green from October 3 to October 25 2026, with a $200 stipend provided to each chosen artist. The call is free to apply and offers public exposure, participation in a city‑wide festival, and collaboration with the Illumination 250 team and local partners.
