About This Opportunity

The Global South Civil Society Microgrants, offered by the Pulitzer Center, provide small grants of USD 2,000–4,000 to grassroots organizations, community educators, civil society groups, artists, and youth movements in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The grants support civic engagement projects that use Pulitzer Center‑supported journalism to deepen public understanding of climate, rainforest, ocean, and labor issues. Eligible applicants must be based in the Global South, have experience in civic engagement, and incorporate at least one Pulitzer Center‑supported story or journalist into their project. Projects may include community dialogues, public performances, digital campaigns, or other creative expressions that build on local knowledge. The application window runs from August 15 to September 6, 2026, with selection announced in mid‑September and implementation from October 2026 to March 2027. Successful proposals receive funding and a six‑month implementation period, and must submit narrative and financial reports upon completion.
