About This Opportunity

The General Category Grants 2027 are a program run by Funds for NGOs that supports emerging contemporary artists from South Asia. Eligible applicants must be aged 21‑35 (born on or after 1 January 1991), be citizens of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, or Bhutan, and must not currently be represented by a gallery. Five grants are awarded each year. Each selected artist receives a cash grant of ₹1,40,000, a travel budget of ₹20,000, professional writing and documentation support, and curated studio visits with senior artists. The program also includes a three‑day cohort meet, a professional personal‑statement development, a 1,500‑word critical essay, and a two‑minute practice film. The grant is intended to strengthen artists’ professional practices, visibility, networks, and career across South Asia.
