About This Opportunity

The Film Promotion Fund is a financial support initiative established by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, to help Indian filmmakers promote their films internationally. The fund aims to enhance the visibility and impact of Indian films once they are selected for prestigious international film festivals or the Academy Awards (Oscars). By providing monetary assistance for promotion campaigns, the fund seeks to boost the global recognition of Indian cinema, contribute to national prestige, encourage high‑quality filmmaking, and support the growth of the Indian film industry.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with the requirement that the applicant must have an official selection letter from an eligible festival. The application must be submitted no later than one week from the date of the official announcement of selection. The fund will be disbursed to the filmmaker that holds an official selection letter to any competitive sections from the identified list of festivals/awards specified in the guidelines. No post‑facto reimbursements of marketing spends are entertained.

The program is open to feature films, TV/Web shows and series, and Reality TV/Web shows and series. Documentaries, AV commercials, and music videos are not eligible. Applicants must pay a processing fee of INR equivalent to USD 225. The fund provides monetary assistance for promotion campaigns, covering costs such as marketing, travel, and festival participation expenses. The India Cine Hub (ICH) administers the program and provides guidance and support throughout the application process.
