About This Opportunity

The New York Art Residency & Studios (NARS) Foundation International Artist Residency Program supports emerging and mid‑career artists working across all disciplines through three‑, six‑, and twelve‑month studio‑based residencies in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York. The program offers 24/7 access to furnished private or semi‑private studios (250‑300 sq ft), weekly studio visits, curatorial and professional support, and opportunities to present work in the NARS gallery, open studios, and public programming. Residents become part of a vibrant community of international and US‑based artists, participating in weekly gatherings, field trips, and collaborative events. The residency provides studio space only; housing, living expenses, travel and health insurance are the responsibility of the artist. International applicants may apply at any time via a rolling application, while US‑based artists can also apply during bi‑annual open calls. Applications are reviewed within 3‑4 weeks. A non‑refundable application fee of $35 USD is required. The program is conducted in English and applicants must be able to obtain the appropriate US visa. No monetary stipend is offered; the benefit consists of studio space, professional support, and exhibition opportunities.
