European Media Art Platform (EMAP) Residencies 2027
Onassis Foundation
About This Opportunity

The European Media Art Platform (EMAP) Residencies 2027, coordinated by the Onassis Foundation, invite artists, duos and collectives working in media, digital, technological and science‑based art to apply for a two‑month production residency at one of fifteen host organisations across Europe. The call is open to EU residents or taxpayers, as well as residents of eligible non‑EU countries under Creative Europe, and welcomes PhD candidates and emerging artists of any age. Undergraduate and master’s students are excluded. Applicants must submit a CV, audiovisual documentation of previous work and a project outline; a collaborating partner may be identified later. Selected artists receive a €4,000 grant for the primary artist, a €2,000 grant for a collaborating artist (or €6,000 total for duos), a €4,000 production budget, accommodation provided by the host, travel cost coverage according to EU ceilings, an invitation to the Kick‑off Conference in Gijón (March 2027), and access to technical facilities, studios, equipment, media labs and professional networks. The deadline for applications is 6 November 2026, 14:00 CET, after which the consortium will select projects based on artistic quality, relevance, feasibility and collaborative potential. The residency is part of the broader Creative Europe‑funded EMAP network, aiming to foster intercultural production, capacity‑building workshops and long‑term visibility for emerging media artists.
