About This Opportunity

The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA) Studio Program provides professional visual artists with subsidized studio spaces in Midtown Manhattan (323 West 39th Street). Studios range from 200 to 440 square feet, with 24/7 access, internet, utilities, and shared amenities. Membership lasts up to two years and may be renewed. Applications are accepted annually from October 1 to December 1, with a deadline of December 1, 2026. Applicants submit work samples, a resume, and an artist statement through an online portal; there is no application fee. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship or legal residency, a developed studio practice, and exclusion of artists enrolled in degree programs or whose work involves large/heavy sculptures or fire hazards. Selected artists receive a private studio at a subsidized monthly fee ($634–$2,022 plus $80 monthly dues) and access to curatorial visits and a supportive community. Notification occurs in March, with interviews in late March–April and move‑in by May 1.
