Dia al-Azzawi Prize for Public Art
Tamayouz Excellence Award
About This Opportunity
The Dia al‑Azzawi Prize for Public Art, launched in 2021 as part of the Tamayouz Excellence Award, is a biennial competition that seeks transformative permanent or temporary public artworks—murals, sculptures, installations, public spaces, graffiti, architecture and planning—created between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2025. The prize aims to empower and support young and emerging artists, architects, designers and studios, fostering dialogue with local authorities and enhancing public art standards across the Near East and North Africa.\n\nEligibility is open to individual creators or teams whose projects are situated in any of the listed MENA countries, with no restrictions on type, nature or cost of the work. Submissions are accepted via a downloadable nomination form. The winner receives a specially designed statue and medal, and travel and flight expenses to attend the annual ceremony are covered for the representative of the winning team.\n\nThe current call is open until 30 November 2026, after which judging will take place in December 2026 and the winner will be announced in January 2027. The award offers significant exposure, networking opportunities, and material recognition for emerging public‑art practitioners.
