About This Opportunity

The Creative Europe Programme (2021‑2027) invites applications for the call CREA‑CULT‑2027‑LIT – Circulation of European literary works. Managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the call aims to support projects that translate, publish, distribute and promote European literary works, including novels, short stories, theatre and radio plays, poetry, reportage, comics and children’s literature. The objectives are to increase the diversity and discoverability of European literature, especially works in less‑translated languages, and to improve the professional conditions and fair remuneration of literary translators. Eligible activities include translation, publication, promotion, distribution, and collaborative actions among publishers, booksellers, libraries and cultural organisations. The estimated total budget for the call is EUR 5 000 000, with a maximum grant amount of EUR 60 000 per project. Projects may be carried out by a single legal entity or a consortium of at least two beneficiaries and must not exceed 36 months. The call is open to legal entities (public or private) established in Creative Europe participating countries, active in the publishing sector, and able to include at least five European literary works. Natural persons are not eligible, except self‑employed sole traders. Applications are submitted electronically via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal; paper submissions are not accepted. The deadline for submission is 27 January 2027 (17:00 CET, Brussels).
