Making Space
About This Opportunity
Making Space, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, invites a single Netherlands‑based artist or cultural practitioner to a six‑week residency at its Guangzhou location from 15 March to 15 June 2027. The residency is process‑ and research‑oriented, encouraging work that engages with alternative education, ecological justice, migration and labour, social practice, intergenerational and family histories, diaspora, and transdisciplinary collaboration. Applicants must be based in the Netherlands and can be artists, makers, curators, writers, researchers or other cultural professionals. The selected resident will receive a 2,700 EUR travel and artist fee subsidy, curatorial and research support, local connections, and the opportunity to develop a public programme. No formal obligation to produce a final exhibition is required.
