Carriers of Chaos and Harmony: Rhythmic Identities & Coexistence with Alessio Castellacci & Lee Meir
Tanzfabrik Berlin
About This Opportunity
Carriers of Chaos and Harmony is a five‑day intensive workshop (17–21 August 2026) held at Tanzfabrik Berlin, Möckernstraße 68, 10965 Berlin, Germany. Choreographer Lee Méir and musician‑dancer Alessio Castellacci guide participants through a series of physical and vocal exercises, exploring groove and polyrhythm as forms of coexistence. The workshop is built on Méir’s “shifting mediums” method, encouraging the fluid transfer of movement between bodies, voices, objects and costumes, blurring the boundaries between human and non‑human, initiator and receiver. Participants will work with costumes and objects, investigate rhythmic identities from simple patterns to complex polyrhythms, and reflect on their artistic, social and cultural implications. Open to all levels and conducted in English, the program welcomes dancers, musicians and performers interested in deepening their understanding of rhythm, collaboration and embodied improvisation. Early‑bird registration is €220 (until 26 July 2026); regular price €250. The workshop does not provide housing or travel support, but participants gain access to studio space, mentorship from the facilitators, and a supportive community of peers. Applications are accepted until the workshop is fully booked.
