About This Opportunity

The Frank‑Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, housed in the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, offers artist residencies that connect established artists with the university’s extensive science‑technology resources. Residents receive a salary, staff benefits, a project fund for technical support, exhibition and presentation assistance, travel and relocation aid, and housing support either on campus or in nearby neighborhoods. Additional resources include office space, computing equipment, an email account, library access, and athletic facilities. The program seeks artists capable of interdisciplinary, collaborative projects at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with no application fee, and require a résumé, a two‑page project statement, references, and documentation of prior work. Selections are based on professional capability and the relevance of the proposed project to the studio’s resources.
