Call To Cooks
East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center
About This Opportunity
Call To Cooks, also presented as Tutu’s Kitchen, is a participatory program within the East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center’s E‘Ai exhibition (September 4 – November 28 2026). The project invites individuals to submit a family recipe accompanied by a personal story or memory. Selected recipes will be displayed in the Ola Nā Iwi Gallery during September and October, with additional stories shared online. All ingredients for the presented dishes are provided, and volunteers will assist participants during the exhibition. The initiative aims to celebrate intergenerational food traditions, foster community dialogue, and support the center’s houseless community by sharing meals on the front lanai. International submissions are due by September 5 2026 via ArtCall, while local submissions are accepted in‑gallery until September 14 2026. EHCC members submit for free; non‑members pay a $20 fee. No age, nationality, or professional restrictions apply, making the call open to anyone with a meaningful family recipe. The program offers exhibition exposure, ingredient provision, volunteer support, and inclusion in an online recipe‑share archive.
