Call for Art: Two-Dimensional Temporary Public Art Installation for Fall 2026
Rochester Contemporary Art Center
About This Opportunity
Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) invites visual artists of all genres to submit three images for a temporary two‑dimensional public art installation at its main facility in downtown Rochester. The selected series will be printed on weather‑safe material (approximately 9' h × 6' w) and displayed 24/7 for 4‑6 months, with installation timed to align with the city’s First Friday events. Artists will receive a $400 stipend and use fee for exhibiting pre‑existing images; all production and installation costs are covered by RoCo. The call is open twice per year, with the Fall 2026 deadline on September 15, 2026 (5 pm EST). Submissions are accepted from local, national, and international artists, with a preference for Rochester‑based creators and those who have previously exhibited at RoCo. Applicants must email a single PDF containing contact information, CV, a brief proposal (max 500 words), and three portrait‑format images (12,000 px × 8,000 px) to info@rochestercontemporary.org. The project aims to connect visitors to the neighborhood’s history, community, and social‑political issues, encouraging engagement and dialogue.
