About This Opportunity

In support of the MIT Museum’s mission to welcome all to participate in MIT’s unique culture of problem‑solving and playful creativity, the BRAIN Programmatic Open Call seeks proposals for innovative public programs that examine humanity’s relationship with the brain. Eligible formats include talks, workshops, performances, master classes, films, VR/XR experiences, and other interactive events that blend art, science, technology, and design. Applications are open to artists, scientists, engineers, designers, and other creative practitioners, including MIT students, staff, faculty, and members of the broader community, provided they are 18 years or older. Selected projects will receive up to $1,000 in budget to cover honoraria, travel, materials, equipment rental, and other production costs, and will have access to the Museum’s public programming spaces (amphitheater, conference rooms, classrooms) and AV equipment. The open call runs from September 1 2026 to November 1 2026 (11:59 PM EST); proposals will be reviewed after the deadline, with selections announced by December 15 2026. Chosen programs will be scheduled during the thematic focus on BRAIN from April to September 2027.
