About This Opportunity
Artudio International Artist Residency Nepal (AIAR) invites artists from around the world to apply for a year‑round residency program in Kathmandu and Patan, Nepal. The residency offers flexible stays of 1, 2 or 3 months, providing private bedrooms, shared kitchens, workspaces, high‑speed Wi‑Fi, laundry facilities, and bi‑weekly housekeeping. Residents receive airport pick‑up, networking opportunities, exhibition support at the Artudio Patan Wing Gallery, and organized visits to local museums, galleries and cultural sites. Applicants are expected to contribute to the community through final presentations, open studios, exhibitions and workshops for children and youths, with a fee of USD 750 for a one‑month stay, USD 1 400 for two months, or USD 2 100 for three months, payable on arrival. The program welcomes creators working in visual arts, media and digital arts, design, architecture, writing, curatorial research, performance, lens‑based media, fashion and textiles. Application materials include an artist statement, a PDF of up to 15 recent works, a project plan, passport copy, completed form and a photo. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. The residency is located in historic Kathmandu (Swoyambhu) and Patan (Nakabahil) in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.
