About This Opportunity

The Artists in Residence programme takes place at St. Andrew’s Castle (Szent András Kastély) in the village of Bölcske‑Szent András Pusztán, Hungary. Founded in 2015, the annual residency invites four painters to spend one month on the estate. Residents receive a private studio/workspace, guest‑house accommodation with a private bedroom and bathroom, three daily meals, and access to wellness facilities. Travel costs are not covered and no production budget is provided. Applications are accepted until 30 November 2026 and must include a PDF portfolio (max 25 MB), CV, a brief artist statement, and a motivation letter responding to the theme “The Space of Change”. The programme begins in late April and concludes with a public exhibition and symposium in late May.
