About This Opportunity

Art Elfouly Residency is an international artist residency program located in a private historic château in France. Each season welcomes twelve practicing artists—painters, photographers, sculptors, writers, and filmmakers—regardless of career stage, focusing on the seriousness of their body of work rather than length of résumé. The residency runs in spring and autumn cohorts, offering standard stays of two, four, or six weeks, with shorter retreats available. Residents receive a private bedroom, a dedicated studio space, all meals with wine, a materials allowance, private studio visits, evening masterclasses, and participation in a closing exhibition. Transfers from the nearest TGV station are arranged, and the estate provides a tranquil environment with gardens, a library, and cultural excursions. Applications are read personally by an international curatorial council and are currently open with no fixed deadline, operating on a rolling basis until all places are filled. The residency is privately funded, offering full and partial fellowships without nationality restrictions, and there is no application fee.
