About This Opportunity
The City of Wichita invites professional artists and artist teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, outdoor public art projects to submit their qualifications for a $45,000 public art commission for the O.J. Watson Park Seasons Venue. The project will begin in Fall 2026 with installation expected in Fall 2027. Emerging artists are encouraged to apply. Applicants must provide 6‑10 images of past public or infrastructure projects, a one‑page Letter of Interest, a résumé/CV, and three professional references. The budget covers design, engineering, fabrication, site preparation, transportation, and installation. Finalists will receive a $1,000 design proposal fee. The selection committee will evaluate artistic excellence, creative process, relevant experience, and alignment with the project’s goals of creating a bold, welcoming landmark that enhances the park’s identity. Applications are submitted digitally via the CaFÉ system with no entry fee.
