About This Opportunity

The City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Department seeks a diverse range of visual artists to join the 2026 Art in Public Places (AIPP) Public Artist Roster. The roster is a standing, pre‑qualified list of artists and fabricators that the city draws on for upcoming mural and public‑art projects. Applicants may be individual artists, teams, or production specialists with experience in murals, street art, graphic illustration, photography, mixed media, or large‑scale exterior work. The call is open to local, national, and international artists; no residency or citizenship restrictions are imposed. Selected roster members become eligible for future commissions that may include artist stipends, design fees, travel reimbursements, and production budgets, though specific amounts are determined per project. The application is free and requires a portfolio of relevant work, an artist statement, and, for fabricators, examples of large‑scale production experience. The deadline for the 2026 round is 25 October 2026 at 11:59 PM (GMT‑6). This is an annual, recurring call; each year a new roster is assembled, and the list remains active for subsequent commission cycles. The City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Department administers the program, reviewing applications through a selection panel before forwarding recommendations to the Arts Commission for final approval.
