3 bis f, lieu d'arts contemporains is a contemporary arts centre located within the 19th‑century Montperrin Psychiatric Hospital in Aix‑en‑Provence, France. Each season the centre invites approximately 20 French and international artists working in visual and performing arts to a residency lasting from a few weeks up to three months. Residents receive an independent 80 m² studio, on‑site accommodation (a bedroom with bathroom in the Guiraud pavilion), access to a performance hall, rehearsal studio, garden and other creative spaces, as well as curatorial, technical and logistical support. The programme includes a €5,000 grant that covers a stipend, travel expenses and a production budget, plus an additional €1,000 payment for the exhibition of the work. The residency culminates in an exhibition of the artists’ new works in the centre’s exhibition spaces. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the centre’s website.
