Miami University
About This Opportunity
The 2027 Miami University Young Painters Competition invites U.S. residents aged 25‑35 to submit up to five representational or non‑representational paintings completed within the past three years. Entries are judged by a national juror, Dan Cameron, and the winner receives a $10,000 William and Dorothy Yeck Purchase Award, a solo exhibition, and a visiting artist role at Miami University. The competition also offers a $2,500 second‑place and $2,000 third‑place award. All submitted works must be available for exhibition and purchase, and finalists are responsible for shipping costs. The competition is held annually, with the 2027 edition’s deadline on September 30, 2026, and exhibition dates in January/March 2027. The award artwork becomes part of the university’s Painters of the 21st Century Collection.
