Open Call: Digital Artist in Residence 2026 (Funded by the Arts Council & DMARC)
University of Limerick – Digital Media and Arts Research Centre (DMARC)
About This Opportunity
The Arts Council and the Digital Media and Arts Research Centre (DMARC) at the University of Limerick invite mid‑career and established digital artists to apply for a six‑month Digital Artist in Residence programme. The residency runs during the 2026/27 academic year (start between 1 Nov 2026 and 1 Jan 2027, completion by June 2027) and provides a dedicated studio space, technical facilities, and access to DMARC’s research infrastructure. The artist will receive a total fee of €18,000 (€13,000 from the Arts Council and €5,000 from the university) paid in two instalments, and is expected to contribute up to 4 hours per week of outreach, workshops, or mentorship for students and staff. Applications are open to residents of the Republic of Ireland who have a proven digital arts practice and have not received Arts Council funding for the proposed activities. Submissions (artist statement, project proposal, CV, and portfolio) must be emailed to giuseppe.torre@ul.ie by 5.30 pm on 23 October 2026.
