About This Opportunity

The City of Richmond Public Art Program is seeking proposals from artists based in Richmond for the 2027–2028 No.3 Road Art Columns Program. The program will run two six‑month exhibitions, from February 1 to July 21, 2027 and from August 1, 2027 to January 31, 2028, each showcasing three artworks from three selected artists. A total of six artists will be commissioned, each receiving an artist fee of $1,500 CAD and required to submit four print‑ready digital artwork files. Printing and installation costs are covered by the City. Eligible artists must reside in Richmond and work in media suitable for digital reproduction, including mixed‑media, painting, illustration, photography, printmaking, drawing, and other compatible mediums. The submission deadline is October 29, 2026. Artists are encouraged to review the Guidance for Applying to Public Art Calls brochure and the detailed Artist Call PDF for full application instructions. This recurring public art commission offers a platform for local artists to display their work in high‑visibility public spaces along the Canada Line, while contributing to Richmond’s cultural landscape.
