130 Awata
About This Opportunity
130 Awata is an independent creative retreat located beside Lake Vaitarna near Trimbakeshwar in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. The residency invites emerging and established artists across all disciplines to develop independent projects in a tranquil, nature‑immersed environment. Artists have access to a shared ceramics studio, wood‑fired kiln, and a range of studio spaces, with the freedom to work on clay, sculpture, painting, photography, textiles, installation, or interdisciplinary practices. The programme runs from 1 March to 31 May 2027, accepting stays of 2 to 6 weeks (flexible up to 8 weeks) for up to six artists at a time. Residents receive private or shared cottage accommodation, three wholesome meals daily, and the opportunity to participate in communal kiln firings and informal studio gatherings. The residency is self‑funded; artists cover their own fees and travel, while the fee includes accommodation, meals, and studio access. No specific nationality or age restrictions apply, and all artistic disciplines are welcome. Applicants are encouraged to apply by 10 November 2026 via the Artaway listing, after which they can contact the host for pricing details.
