The Denbo Center for Humanities & the Arts (DCHA) at the University of Tennessee invites submissions for its inaugural interdisciplinary symposium, “Speculative Souths,” scheduled for June 10‑12, 2027 in Knoxville, TN. Applicants may submit individual papers (300‑word abstract, 100‑word bio), panel proposals (500‑word introduction plus abstracts and bios for each presenter), or roundtable/work‑in‑progress sessions (same format). The three‑day event will feature 30‑40 speakers, plenary talks, panel discussions, and visual‑arts exhibitions, providing participants with presentation slots, exhibition opportunities, and networking with scholars and artists. Submissions are open to scholars, artists, and practitioners of any nationality or institutional affiliation. Proposals must be submitted by November 2, 2026.
