Gateway Theatre’s Creative Leader program aims to address the gap in professional training and opportunities for those looking to grow in creative leadership positions of theatre-making, in particular for those interested in musicals and large-scale works. The Assistant Music Director will support the Music Director in carrying out their vision, which may or may not include: Participating in pre-production planning and rehearsals, work in collaboration with the Music Director in executing the creative vision, may oversee certain aspects of music rehearsals, attending tech rehearsals, administrative duties in rehearsal (i.e. taking notes), assisting in rehearsals with note taking, observational duties, listening for sound/music notes.
