À Propos de Cette Opportunité

Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) is seeking contemporary and traditional art by Native and Indigenous artists for a group exhibition in fall 2026. The exhibition will open the weekend of September 12, 2026 and close on October 11, 2026, in conjunction with the Many Winters Gathering of Elders (October 8-11, 2026), an annual event that plays a vital role in the Native community of greater Los Angeles. The Gathering aims to host a sacred space for people to come together, listen, learn from and support Indigenous communities, and inspire a healthier future through ceremony and knowledge sharing. Eligible applicants include Native and Indigenous contemporary artists and artisans of all career levels, with artists local to Southern California strongly recommended as selected artists are responsible for transporting their artwork to the gallery. Only one submission form with up to 3 artworks can be submitted per artist. Due to limited gallery space, not all submissions will be shown. A jury of Native Arts professionals — including Joe D. Horse Capture (Citizen of the A'aninin Indian Tribe, Vice President of Native Collections at the Autry Museum), Emma Robbins (Diné, Director of The Chapter House), and Laurie Steelink (Akimel O'otham Gila River Community, founder of Cornelius Projects) — will review all submissions. Exhibiting artists will receive a modest honorarium and be invited to the opening reception (tentatively September 13, 1-4pm). Ready-to-hang work will be installed by AGCC preparators, and the center will create and distribute marketing materials. Works must be delivered to the gallery on August 21st or 22nd and picked up the week of October 13th. The gallery is located at 3601 S. Gaffey Street, San Pedro, Los Angeles, California.
