关于此机会

Since 2014, The Image Centre (Toronto) has run a series of research fellowships that enable scholars and artists to work directly with its extensive photography collections, including the Black Star Collection, the Francis Bedford Research Collection, and the Edward Burtynsky Collection. In 2027 the Centre will award six fellowships: the IMC/AMC Postdoctoral Fellowship (CAD 70,000 salary + benefits), the Nadir Mohamed Postdoctoral Fellowship (CAD 10,000 stipend), the Penny Rubinoff Fellowship (CAD 5,000 stipend), the Elaine Ling Fellowship (CAD 4,000 stipend), the Howard Tanenbaum Fellowship for Artistic Research (CAD 4,000 stipend, open to artists of any education level), and the Wendy Snyder MacNeil Research Fellowship (CAD 2,500 stipend, for photo‑based artists). Applications are accepted from Canadian and international candidates; specific eligibility varies per fellowship (PhD required for postdoctoral awards, master’s degree for Rubinoff and Ling, any level for Howard Tanenbaum, undergraduate or artist for Wendy Snyder MacNeil). Applicants must submit a project proposal, CV, writing sample (or portfolio/video for the artistic fellowship), and a recommendation letter via email by 18 October 2026 (23:59 EST). Fellows conduct on‑site research in Toronto, receive access to the Image Centre’s research centre and TMU archives, and are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation, with the stipend intended to offset these costs. A final two‑page report is required within one month of completing the fellowship.

限制

Open to Canadian and international applicants. Specific fellowships require: PhD (postdoctoral), master’s degree (Rubinoff, Ling), any education level/independent artist (Howard Tanenbaum), undergraduate or artist (Wendy Snyder MacNeil). Past IMC fellows may not reapply for five years.
