The Fondation François Schneider organises the 16th edition of its Talents Contemporains competition dedicated to the theme of water. Open to visual artists of any nationality who are of legal age and can demonstrate a solid professional background (exhibitions, publications, residencies) over the past five years, the call accepts works in painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video, textile and other fine‑art disciplines; performing arts and music are excluded. Applicants may submit a single existing artwork or, for sculpture and installation, a project proposal that can receive a production budget of up to €50,000. The competition runs from 23 September to 22 November 2026, with the deadline on 22 November 2026. Four to seven laureates are selected by expert committees and an international grand jury; each winner receives a €15,000 merit‑based prize (or €8,000 for photographic/video editions) and, for sculpture/installation projects, additional production funding. Winners’ works are acquired for the Foundation’s collection, exhibited in a group show at the Wattwiller Art Centre, featured in a bilingual publication and a video portrait. Applications are submitted electronically via the Foundation’s portal, with required documents including CV, portfolio, statement of intent, technical specifications, and, where applicable, a detailed budget. The competition is an annual, recurring call.
