Solanas Art Experience (SAE), the cultural platform of Fundación Solanas located in Punta Ballena, Uruguay, launches its 2027 Open Call for visual artists. The program seeks mid‑career artists from Latin America and the Caribbean who have a sustained body of work, including international exhibitions, collections, or previous residencies. Three one‑month editions will run in 2027 (31 Mar‑28 Apr, 10 Aug‑7 Sep, 28 Sep‑26 Oct). For each edition, SAE will select two to three artists. Selected residents receive accommodation, meals, travel support, a USD 300 production fund, shared studio space, and curatorial mentorship. The residency concludes with an Open Studio and the possibility of inclusion in the Solanas Art Experience Collection, to which each artist contributes a work while retaining authorship rights. Applicants must submit a Google‑form application and a PDF portfolio (CV, artist statement, project proposal, timeline, two recommendation letters) by 7 August 2027. Artists who have previously participated in SAE residencies are not eligible, and proposals focused solely on outdoor site‑specific work, performance, or audiovisual formats are excluded.
