Georges River Council
关于此机会
Georges River Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists (permanent residents, 18+, with a valid ABN and Australian bank account) to create a permanent public artwork for the new Carss Park Pool in New South Wales. The project aims to commission a site‑specific sculpture that responds to the pool’s history, geography and the cultural heritage of the Bidjigal Traditional Custodians, who are especially encouraged to apply. The council has allocated an indicative budget of AUD 90,000 (excluding GST) to cover artist fees, design, fabrication, engineering, installation and travel. Shortlisted artists will receive a separate AUD 3,000 concept development fee. Applications close at midnight on 1 November 2026 (AEDT) and must be submitted via the SmartyGrants portal. Required materials include an artist statement, concept and feasibility statements, a cultural connection statement, a detailed budget, timeline, CV (max two A4 pages) and a portfolio (PDF or JPG, up to 5 MB). The full Expression of Interest document and additional guidance (Easy English guide and video) are available through the council’s website. This commission offers a unique opportunity for emerging and established Indigenous artists to contribute a lasting cultural landmark to a major community facility.
