AiR Nieuw en Meer is a community‑run artist residency located in the Oeverlanden park by the Nieuwe Meer lake in Amsterdam. The program offers a single 48 m² guest studio equipped with a sleeping area, kitchen, shower, toilet, floor heating and Wi‑Fi. Artists may stay for a fixed period of up to three months, with the residency slots aligned to calendar quarters (January–March, April–June, July–September, October–December). The residency is open to artists of all disciplines; there is no budget or stipend, and the stay is free apart from a modest monthly rent of €450 (couples €575). The community provides a supportive environment but no day‑to‑day guidance, encouraging a DIY mentality. At the end of each stay, residents are expected to present their work to the community and share documentation for social media and archives. Applications are submitted via a downloadable PDF form and an email to the coordinator. The residency is part of a long‑standing tradition of independent, volunteer‑run artist housing in the former weapons depot, now home to about 100 artists and small businesses.
