关于此机会
The Leonard A. Lauder Research Center for Modern Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art administers four annual research fellowships: a two‑year Pre‑Doctoral Fellowship for current PhD students, a one‑ or two‑year Post‑Doctoral Fellowship for scholars who earned their PhD within the past seven years, a one‑year Mid‑Career Fellowship for established scholars with a strong publication record, and a one‑year Non‑Residential Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship. All projects must focus on modern art (architecture, drawing, design, film, painting, performance, photography, prints, sculpture, 19th‑century‑to‑1960s). Fellows receive a stipend ($50,000 for Pre‑Doctoral, $60,000 for Post‑Doctoral, $70,000 for Mid‑Career) plus a $6,000 travel allowance and a monthly health‑insurance offset. The program provides access to the Met’s collections, research facilities, mentorship, writing workshops, gallery walks, and participation in the Modern Art Index project. Applications are submitted online in English and must include a research proposal, bibliographic statement, personal statement, work schedule, travel schedule, CV, three recommendation letters, and, for Pre‑Doctoral applicants, transcripts. The deadline is 15 October 2026 (5 pm ET); notifications are sent by the end of January 2027. The fellowship period begins 1 September 2027 and runs for 12–24 months depending on the award.
