La Muse is a rural artist and writer retreat located in Labastide-Esparbairenque, in the Montagne Noire region of France. The residency welcomes creative practitioners across disciplines—visual arts, sound/music, writing/literature, video/film—and offers a flexible, rolling application process. Residents can choose to work independently or engage with other participants, and the program provides accommodation, a quiet creative space, and optional workshops such as Digital Detox, Creative Sparks, and Cinematic Screenwriting. The residency lasts between one week and one month, with multiple slots available throughout 2026 as shown in the 2026 calendar. Applications are free, and the retreat provides housing; travel support is not included. The program is open to artists of all nationalities and ages, with no specific eligibility restrictions beyond being a practicing artist.
