The Japan Foundation’s International Creations in Performing Arts program (Fiscal Year 2027) invites Japanese organizations or individuals to collaborate with international artists to create new performing arts works. The program supports projects that span up to two fiscal years, with a start date between June 1 2027 and March 31 2028 and an end date no later than March 31 2029. Funding covers less than 70 % of the total project cost, up to a maximum of 10 million JPY for Category A applicants (legal Japanese entities in the arts) and 5 million JPY for Category B applicants (individuals or non‑legal organizations with an ASEAN partner). Projects must include a process observer and produce video documentation for online distribution by the Japan Foundation. Applications are submitted electronically through the Japan Foundation’s Online Application Portal by 1 p.m. on December 1 2026 (Japan Standard Time). The program is open to Japanese‑based applicants only, and applicants must not have received grants from Japanese government agencies or be affiliated with anti‑social forces.
