Hwinzo Retreat & Residence in Tofo Beach, Inhambane Province, Mozambique, invites artists across disciplines—painters, musicians, writers, and makers—to participate in a rolling residency program. The residency provides uninterrupted weeks of creative time, access to studios, outdoor areas, forest paths, and workshop spaces, and opportunities for exchange and collaboration with local artisans, makers, and musicians. Applicants submit a brief description of their practice, what they hope to create or explore during their stay, and links to examples of existing work. While the program does not offer a monetary stipend or housing, it emphasizes community engagement and immersion in Mozambican culture. The residency is ongoing, with places awarded on a rolling basis, and typically spans three weeks per placement.
