The ENDURION Project, coordinated by Wasabi Innovations Ltd., is launching the European Green Hydrogen Mural & Calendar Art Competition 2027. The call invites EU‑resident illustrators, muralists, designers, and visual storytellers to produce original works that interpret how green hydrogen can contribute to a sustainable, climate‑neutral, and energy‑secure Europe. The competition theme covers four areas: (1) green hydrogen as a clean energy carrier, (2) green hydrogen as a sustainable industrial feedstock, (3) European innovation in hydrogen technologies, and (4) Europe’s green transition. Artists may use any traditional medium, provided the final submission is supplied in high‑resolution digital format (JPEG, 300 dpi, RGB). Submissions must be original, not AI‑generated, and not previously awarded. Applications are in English and must include a title, short description (max 300 words), high‑resolution image, artist biography (max 250 words), and contact details.

The competition offers a €2,500 contract to publish the winning artwork and €12,000 for materials, travel, accommodation, equipment rental, and media coverage. The winning piece will be transformed into a 200–250 m² public mural on a prominent building in either Sofia (Bulgaria) or Torino (Italy). Twelve additional artworks will be selected for a €200 contract and featured in the limited‑edition ENDURION Green Hydrogen Calendar 2028, printed in approximately 500 copies and distributed to European Parliament members, national ministers, diplomats, industry leaders, and research institutions.

The jury consists of eleven principal investigators from the ENDURION consortium. The evaluation criteria include artistic excellence, communication impact, relevance to the theme, and mural feasibility. The timeline is: draft artwork submission deadline 1 October 2026, winning artwork announcement 1 December 2026, contract signing deadline 15 January 2027, final artwork submission 31 January 2027, and mural completion 31 May 2027. Artists retain copyright ownership, granting ENDURION an exclusive, royalty‑free right to display, publish, and reproduce the work for the competition, calendar, and mural. The competition is open to EU residents only and is not a residency or grant program.
