2027年“Breath”驻留项目公开征集

The Breath Residency is an international research and creation residency launched by the ISVOR Association and the Imago Mundi ensemble in 2025 as part of the World Flutes Museum Project. It brings together five composers and performers of traditional European wind instruments to research instruments and musical languages, exchange instruments and techniques, and explore how breath carries melodies, stories and memory across generations. The residency takes place in Săliștea, Vâlcea, Romania, in a former school transformed into a creative space where participants can research, create and exchange while engaging directly with local musicians, storytellers and community knowledge. Over 33 days, residents will engage in research, collective creation, and production & presentation stages, culminating in performances, sound installations, workshops and other interdisciplinary outcomes. The program offers daily allowance (€30/day), travel allowance up to €600, accommodation, access to instruments and research resources, a dedicated creative space, artistic mentorship, and opportunities to engage with local musicians, storytellers and audiences. Applicants must be legally residing in a Creative Europe country other than Romania, have an established artistic practice, be interested in research and experimentation, and be open to exchanging instruments and knowledge. Five residents will be selected.

Applicants must be legally residing in a Creative Europe country other than Romania; artists residing in Romania are not eligible. Must be composers or performers of traditional European wind instruments or artists whose practice connects with traditional musical languages and living heritage; must have an established artistic practice and be open to research, experimentation, and collaboration.
