Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE)
关于此机会
LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions) announces the seventh edition of its Lightning Fund, an annual regional regranting program supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The Fund provides ten project grants of $6,000 each to Los Angeles County‑based visual artists, covering a broad range of media such as painting, sculpture, installation, film/video, new media, sound, performance, and social practice. Applications open on August 12, 2026 and close on September 23, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST. Eligible applicants must be at least 18, reside in LA County, and not be enrolled in a college program. The program excludes artists whose primary practice is dance, theater, music, or commercial filmmaking, as well as nonprofit or for‑profit entities. A virtual information session is offered on July 28, 2026. In addition to the ten Lightning Fund grants, LACE selects one mid‑ or late‑career artist for the Jacki Apple Fund award of $10,000, with the same eligibility criteria plus a career‑stage requirement. Selected projects are expected to be publicly accessible outside traditional museum or gallery settings and must be completed within one year of the award. The application is submitted via Submittable and requires a brief artist statement, project description, budget outline, and 1‑3 work samples. Decisions are announced after review by a panel of cultural workers, and funds are distributed by the end of January 2027.
