Atelier Samuel Beckett is an artist‑led, self‑directed residency located in the village of Mericourt, France, just north of Paris. The program offers a renovated private house with two en‑suite bedrooms, a living area, and a dedicated library of Samuel Beckett books and related texts. Artists may use the bedrooms, living room, and library as workspaces, and a separate studio is available. The residency is open to artists of all disciplines, encouraging exploration of Beckett’s legacy through visual arts, sound, writing, and film. Participants receive a €1,500 stipend and up to €500 in travel expenses, and the house is self‑catering but fully furnished. Mentorship and artistic consultation are available from the joint artistic directors of Gare St Lazare Ireland, Judy Hegarty Lovett and Conor Lovett. The program runs on a rolling basis, with no fixed deadline; applications are accepted year‑round. The residency lasts between one and four weeks, and offers accommodation, workspace, a comprehensive library, and mentorship. The program is supported by Gare St Lazare Ireland and is part of a Franco‑Irish collaboration to promote Beckett studies.
