Art Oni:艺术家驻留计划
Shiro Oni Studio
关于此机会

Shiro Oni Studio, founded in 2013 by American artist Kjell Hahn, runs an annual artist residency in the small town of Onishi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Each cohort consists of nine artists who stay for six weeks, working in individual studios and shared facilities such as a woodshop and ceramic kiln. The program provides a private bedroom, utilities, 24/7 studio access, transportation to and from the town, translation assistance, bicycles, and flyer‑printing expenses. Artists are responsible for their own travel, food, workshop fees, and materials. Eligibility is limited to full‑time artists, graduate students, and university professors who can manage daily life independently, speak English or Japanese, are in good health, can ride a bicycle, attend meetings, participate in a group exhibition, and donate a piece of art to the residency. Applications for the 2027 cohort are accepted from July 1 to September 1, 2027, via an online Google Form. The residency culminates in a group exhibition held at the final weekend of the program.
