Kumu Art Museum
关于此机会
The Kumu Art Museum, in partnership with the Estonian Academy of Arts and Rīga Stradiņš University, is calling for contributions to the interdisciplinary conference "Entangled Motherhoods: Care, Politics and Intimacies." The event will take place on 8–9 April 2027 in Tallinn and aims to bring together scholars, artists, and activists from Central and Eastern Europe to critically examine the cultural, social, and political dimensions of motherhood. Submissions may take the form of academic papers, round‑table discussions, artist talks, world‑cafés, or experimental walkshops (guided walks, immersive meditations, or other site‑specific activities). Walkshops should last one to two hours and the organizers will provide a limited budget to cover materials and related expenses. Proposals should be no longer than 250 words and must include a brief biography. The deadline for submission is 1 November 2026. The conference is open to all artists and scholars; no specific eligibility criteria are listed. Participants are invited to engage with themes such as the politics of care, maternal affect, and new aesthetic categories in creative practice. The event will serve as a satellite to the exhibition "Who’s Afraid of Motherhood?" at Kumu.
