Butler Gallery invites expressions of interest for one‑month studio residencies in its Garden Studio located in Kilkenny, Ireland, for the year 2027. The Garden Studio provides a dedicated space for artists to research, experiment and create, with studio access available during the gallery’s operating hours. Each residency includes a stipend of €2,500 and encourages participants to engage the public through at least one activity such as an open studio, workshop or artist talk. The residencies will run monthly beginning in April 2027. Accommodation is not provided. The call is open to artists of all disciplines, with a particular preference for those who have a demonstrated track record of community engagement. Applications must be submitted by Monday 26 October 2026. Selected artists will receive the stipend and studio access but must arrange their own housing and travel.
